Brianne Paugh

After Brianne graduated high school, she knew she wanted a career in real estate law.  She immediately began working in the title insurance industry while completing her B.S. in Legal Studies.  She went on to law school and after receiving her J.D., acquired several years of experience as a litigator, which eventually led her to Village Settlements.  Brianne is experienced in all aspects of residential real estate transactions, and works primarily in the Frederick office.

Brianne is heavily involved in the Frederick County Association of Realtors.  She was selected by FCAR as the 2017 Affiliate of the Year.  She authors a monthly “Paugh’s Laws” blog that provides legal updates to FCAR members.  Moreover, she serves on a number of FCAR Committees, such as the Forms Committee, where Brianne wrote a Solar Panel Addendum—the first of its kind for a local Realtor Association, and is available on zipForm.

Brianne routinely teaches Continuing Education for FCAR and GCAAR and also, is an Adjunct Professor of Principles and Practices of Real Estate for Maryland (Realtor pre-licensing course) at Frederick Community College.

In addition to real estate, Brianne has experience in public service and administrative law at the local, State, and Federal level to include: Special Assistant Solicitor for the Baltimore City Law Department; Law Clerk for the Maryland Attorney General; Law Clerk for the D.C. Compensation Review Board; and Law Clerk for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Board of Veterans Appeals.  She represented injured workers before the Maryland Workers’ Compensation Commission and the District of Columbia Office of Workers’ Compensation; represented plaintiffs in personal injury claims; and wrote substantial appellate motions and briefs for workers’ compensation claims and tort cases.

Brianne is a member of the Women’s Bar Association of Maryland; the Women’s Bar Association of the District of Columbia; District of Columbia Bar; Maryland State Bar Association; and Montgomery County Bar Association.  She is affiliated with the Women’s Frederick County Network Council of Realtors and the Frederick County Association of Realtors.

Brianne received her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from the University of Baltimore School of Law, and a Bachelor of Science in Legal Studies, summa cum laude, from University of Maryland University College. She is licensed to practice law in Maryland and the District of Columbia.

In her spare time, Brianne studies dance, is a car enthusiast, plays golf, and water-skis at every opportunity.
